safetrek.ai is a veteran-owned and veteran-founded company, born from the operational experience of BA Clearance GmbH — a specialist in explosive ordnance disposal in the world's most demanding environments, headquartered in Tautenhain, Thuringia. From hands-on field operations arose a clear need: to assess dangerous situations faster, more accurately, and in a more data-driven way. Anyone can navigate a city. No one can navigate a minefield. That is the map we are building.
Our founders and team are former military professionals — drawn from Army and Navy special operations, including Tier 1 units, and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD). And because old habits die hard, the same stubbornness has led some through the minefields of academia to earn their stripes. We are dedicated to complex operations and high-risk environments where conventional ordnance-disposal capabilities reach their limits. Backed by a trusted network and many years of operational and training experience, we identify, classify, assess, and dispose of ordnance on land and in maritime environments.
That same expertise now reaches beyond the field. With years of experience in adjacent sectors such as production and corporate environments, our portfolio — and with it our scope and presence — has continued to grow.
What We Do
Because of who we are — fluent in the operational language and equally at home in engineering — we can translate the realities of the field into technology and strike the right tone for the people who rely on it. Two worlds meet in our team: the highly specialized operational domain of the military and the end user, and the high-technology engineering environment — mastered by people trained deeply in both.
We started by solving one of the most complex detection problems in the world: identifying explosive remnants of war from the air, from hand-held devices, and directly from the ground. Every line of code, every model, and every workflow was built and hardened under real operational constraints, where reliability is not optional but essential.
This foundation shaped our approach to AI from the beginning. What was developed for high-risk environments has become a broader capability for perception, decision support, and operational awareness. Today, we apply the same rigor to industrial quality, process optimization, and safety-critical environments. Our platform delivers real-time AI perception wherever operations take place - on smartphones, autonomous systems, industrial robots, humanoid co-workers, or fixed edge infrastructure. It combines fast, on-device detection with deeper contextual scene understanding when complexity demands it.
